ultra-high-density grazing - The grazing of livestock such that they remain at extremely high stock densities throughout the day. Generally achieved by herding, enclosing stock in small areas with movable fence, or both. The aim is to induce herd effect, and thus high animal impact, over most of the land most of the time. This imitates the heavy animal impact of wild herds, clumped and agitated under pressure from predators.
