Foresty that Works

Forestry that Works is a 29-minute film on forest management produced in 2006 by Wallowa Resources, a community-based nonprofit in Enterprise, Oregon. The film, written and directed by Peter Donovan, highlights some excellent examples of forest stewardship on private land, and points up the opportunity to apply this kind of stewardship to National Forests. Our U.S. National Forests make up 10 percent of our land base. They are operating at less than potential ecologically, economically, and socially. How can we change the incentives on federal land?

The film includes interviews with Bob Chadwick, Daniel Kemmis, and Randal O'Toole on the incentives behind public land management. See the script.
